1st Annual LCI Governor's Cup

proceeds benefit the Fishing For Friends Mentoring Program
and Lake Champlain Fisheries Recovery Fund

May 19, 2008
10 a.m. until noon
Windemere Way F&W Access, Colchester, VT

Here at Lake Champlain International, Inc., we are always seeking ways to draw the public's attention to the Lake Champlain watershed and the value of it and the angling heritage to our communities.   The 1st Annual LCI Governor's Cup is one more way for us to do that.

In concert with the Governor of Vermont, Jim Douglas, Lake Champlain International, Inc. will host a morning of charity fishing to highlight the value of the Champlain fishery while raising much needed funds for the Lake Champlain Fisheries Recovery Effort and the Fishing for Friends mentoring partnership with HowardCenter.

Join us May 19 at 10 a.m. until noon to watch the Governor and his team of anglers compete against the invited teams of the Vermont Speaker of the House and the Senate President Pro Tem for fun, charity, and, of course, bragging rights.  It may not be a bad time to share with elected leaders just how much a healthy Lake Champlain fishery means to each of us.  If you are entering a team to compete, a minimum team donation of $500 is requested.

Governor Jim Douglas and Lt. Governor Brian Dubie (left) have been honing
their angling skills in preparation for the 1st Annual LCI Governor's Cup.

In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the same time on June 2, 2008.
